In 2021, despite the global epidemic brought about by international shipping, significant fluctuations in raw material prices, electricity supply tensions and other multiple difficulties, China’s motor industry with a complete supply chain, huge production capacity, efficiency and price advantages, still show strong industry resilience and vitality, total exports of motor products broke $ 20 billion, a record high in previous years. Benefiting from the apparent recovery of manufacturing industries in various countries and the general growth in international market demand, China’s motor industry achieved impressive sustained export growth in 2021.

Under the global net zero target, energy saving and emission reduction in the motor industry, green development will be the way to go. 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the General Administration of Market Regulation jointly issued the “Motor Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan (2021-2023)”, which clearly proposed that by 2023, the output of energy-efficient motors would reach 170 million kilowatts, and the proportion of energy-efficient motors in service would reach over 20%. Expanding the green supply of energy-efficient motors, expanding the industrial chain of energy-efficient motors, accelerating the promotion and application of energy-efficient motors, and promoting the intellectualization and digitalization of motor systems will be the key tasks in the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and improving the energy efficiency of motors will be the general trend.
